Theme: Street Photography

A Photography Competition is an event where participants showcase their skills in capturing visually compelling images. These competitions provide a platform for photographers, amateur or professional, to express their creativity and perspectives through the lens.

Eligibility:

  • Open to college students.
  • Participants from schools and colleges are also encouraged to participate.

Registration:

  • Participants should register on or before 10th Feb 2024.
  • A valid college or school I-Card is mandatory for participation and must be carried during the event for verification.

Submission Rules:

  1. Number of Entries: Participants can submit up to 3 photographs.
  2. Original Work: All submitted photographs must be the original work of the participant.
  3. Photo Editing: Basic adjustments colour correction can be done in Adobe Light room only.
  4. Image Format: All entries submitted must be at least 300 DPI and must be uploaded in JPEG format with high – quality compression. We will use winning images for high-quality reproduction.
  5. The photographs sent by the participant must be original and not copied from anywhere
  6. All submitted photos must contain the original metadata information. However, there

Must be no border(s), logo(s), copyright marks, identifying marks, or any other visible

References and/ or marks on the image.

Image Rights:

  1. Participants should ensure they have all the necessary permissions to use any recognizable subjects and locations in their photos.
  2. The photographer must be the author of the pictures submitted in his/her Name.

Submission Process:

  1. Deadline:“17th February 4:00 P.M.”  Late submissions will not be considered.
  2. Entries will be accepted only through online submissions with proper name and details including name, contact information, and a brief description of each photograph at “kalanjali.photography@gmail.com “
  3. File Naming: Participants should name their image files for submission as “JEF_Photography_StudentName”

Judging Criteria:

  1. Relevance to Theme: The extent to which the photograph relates to the competition’s theme.
  2. Composition and Framing: The photographer’s ability to arrange elements within the frame in a visually pleasing and effective manner.
  3. Creativity and Originality: The uniqueness and inventiveness of the photograph.
  4. Technical Skill: The level of technical proficiency in capturing and processing the image. Judges can evaluate factors like exposure, focus, sharpness, depth of field, and colour accuracy.
  5. Storytelling: The ability of the photograph to convey a narrative or tell a story.

Copyright: Jagran Education Foundation will own full rights of the submitted photographs and may use them as they deem fit.

Code of Conduct: Participants should maintain ethical conduct throughout the competition.Announcement of Winners: Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on the college campus.
