A Rangoli Competition is an event that celebrates the traditional Indian art form of Rangoli. In Rangoli, participants create intricate and colourful designs on the ground, typically in public spaces, using various materials such as colored powders, flower petals, rice flour, and other decorative elements.

Eligibility:

  • Open to college students.

Theme:

The theme for the competition is “Any State of India.” This theme allows participants to choose any Indian state and represent its culture and traditions through their Rangoli design.

Team Size:

A maximum of 2 candidates can participate in one team.

Registration:

  • Participants should register on or before 10th Feb 2024.
  • Participants must have a college or school I-Card to participate in the event.
  • During the event, students must carry their I-Card for verification.

Materials and Dimension:

Students can use colored powders, flower petals, rice, or any other traditional or eco-friendly Rangoli materials. The dimension size should not exceed 36”x36”.

Time Limit:

The Rangoli time limit is 2 hours.

Judging Criteria:

  • Judging will be based on:
    • Creativity and originality in representing the chosen state’s culture.
    • Use of colours and materials.
    • Overall aesthetics and visual impact.
    • Attention to detail and intricacy.
    • The message or story conveyed by the Rangoli.
    • Neatness and cleanliness.

Display Area:

Student work will be displayed in the JIDA and Jagran College Campus.

Clean-Up:
Participants are instructed to clean up their area after completing their Rangoli. Bins will be provided for waste disposal, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness will be emphasized.
